@terencetelle, a French fitness blogger, recently caused a stir on social media when he posted a picture of himself wearing the same pair of shorts for 100 consecutive days.

While some people were quick to praise @terencetelle for his commitment to his fitness goals, others were less than impressed, with some even accusing him of « laziness » and « lack of hygiene. »

So, what’s the truth? Is it really OK to wear the same pair of shorts for 100 days straight?

We asked a few experts to weigh in.

Dr. Aileen Marty, an infectious disease specialist at Florida International University, says that as long as the shorts are clean and dry, there’s no need to worry about bacteria or other contaminants.

« If you’re just working out at home and not coming into contact with other people, then you don’t have to worry about anything, » she says.

Dr. Marty does caution, however, that if you are sweating heavily, you should change into clean clothes as soon as possible to avoid skin infections.

Dr. Lisa Ackerley, a hygiene expert and professor at the University of Salford, agrees with Dr. Marty.

« There’s no need to wash your shorts more often than you would any other item of clothing, » she says. « If you’re comfortable wearing them for 100 days, then go for it! »

So there you have it! As long as you’re comfortable and your shorts are clean, there’s no need to worry about wearing the same pair day after day.
